Hi everyone...
It's been my sixth day in marathon playing (or should I say practicing) how to release a hook ball since last Monday. It was my first time to play using a hook ball after I bought it at Miri. There were so many things played in my mind. How is the hook ball going to be when I first release it? Will it be hooked by it self when I release it?
The time that I was waiting for came after. At the first time I release the ball, it gone straight. At my second attempt, it tried to hook it, but it was spinning (it should be rolling). After so many times I tried to hook the ball, it doesn’t work. Noticing that I was trying that hard, a guy came approach and taught me how my wrist should be when I release the ball. He said that my wrist was ‘patah’ when I release the ball where it should be straight. Now I know why some bowlers use ‘wrister’ to release the bowling ball, hehehe... After a few attempts with some advice from that guy, you know what? I made it. I hook the ball on the lane. It feels AMAZING. Though, it was not perfect enough, LOL.
A few moments later, the seniors who played next to my lane came approaching us to start some conversation. They give some more advice to me on how to release the hook ball and how to play bowling in a proper way. I got so many lessons on that day and I felt lucky enough to know them. Thank god they came at the right time.
Come on guys, share me some of your experiences attempting the hook ball for the first time... It should be amazing right?
